From 7 to 9 February 2025, Bologna once again became a key player in the art world, hosting the 51st edition of ArteFiera—Italy’s longest-running and most prestigious modern and contemporary art fair. With over 170 participating galleries, the event reaffirmed its international standing, offering a curatorial approach that blended tradition and innovation.
This year’s edition focused on conscious collecting and the promotion of emerging talents through the new section “Prospettiva”, curated by Michele D’Aurizio. This initiative, dedicated to research-driven galleries and emerging artists, underscores ArteFiera’s commitment to looking toward the future while honouring the roots of modern and contemporary art.
The debut of “Sister Art”: a fresh outlook on contemporary art
Within this vibrant and stimulating context, “Sister Art” was born—a new format I co-created with Laura, a colleague and co-founder of the project. “Sister Art” stems from the desire to explore the art world through a personal and authentic lens, offering stories, interviews, and insights captured directly from the field.
The first episode was filmed during ArteFiera 2025, where we had the chance to interview emerging artists, seasoned gallerists and leading art professionals. We gathered real-time stories, opinions and reflections on the contemporary art market. What emerged was a dynamic scene where experimentation and expressive diversity intersect with vital topics like sustainability and inclusion.
“Telling these stories in real time—among artworks, voices, and gazes—allowed us to bring art closer to those who often see it as distant. That’s the spirit of ‘Sister Art’: to create connections through direct experiences.”
ArteFiera 2025: new challenges in market and collecting
One of the most debated themes at this edition was the growing focus on conscious collecting—not only valuing the aesthetics of a piece, but also its ability to convey social and cultural messages. More and more collectors are seeking works that tell meaningful stories and address contemporary topics such as social justice, the environment, and identity.
ArteFiera 2025 stood out for the quality of its exhibitions and for its ability to create dialogue between established artists and the next generation. This openness to young talent is a positive sign for the future of the sector, highlighting the importance of creating spaces for exchange and growth.
Between fairs and storytelling: the “Sister Art” experience
With “Sister Art” we aim to continue exploring major art events in Italy and abroad, offering exclusive content, interviews, and stories that unveil what happens behind the scenes of fairs and exhibitions. Our goal is to bring art closer to a broader audience, with insights that are simple yet never superficial—highlighting the people and narratives behind the works.
The first episode of “Sister Art,” filmed at ArteFiera 2025, will soon be available on my social channels (Instagram and TikTok). Follow us to discover, through our interviews, the voices and emotions that shaped this edition.
